The Vivian Snyder Historical & Genealogical Library

Let's Explore Together

From March to the end of November, the museum is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Other hours and special tours may be arranged through the museum volunteer staff.

The entrance from the rear parking lot has a ramp on the museum’s main floor. Stairs lead to the basement, second, and third floors; there is no elevator.

The library is primarily a genealogical and local history research library containing over 5000 books, pamphlets, city directories, and records on people, groups, organizations, and industries with connections to Jefferson County. Artifacts and documents from the 1700s to the 2000s are available for visitors and researchers to peruse, and we have books on most of Ohio’s 88 counties.
